PROJECT "SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE KITCHEN" 8C

FIRST TASK

Rubric to assess students' recipe video


Situation

Students from 8th grade are starting to work in the project “Science and Technology in the kitchen” This is an heterogeneous group which level vary from beginner (A1)  to intermediate level (B1). However the majority is placed in A2 accomplishing the expectation from the Ministry of Education. The first topic for the project is “Presenting a recipe”

Task

Students are going to watch two videos related to cooking actions and a recipe. They will reconstruct the recipe and they will write their own recipe working in teams of three.
Production: Students are going to record themselves presenting their recipe. And bring degustation to the class if it is possible.

To complete this task successfully you need to

1.     Greet the audience
2.     Introduce yourselves
3.     Present the name of the dish
4.     Show and name each ingredient including quantities.
5.     Present the kitchen tools you need.
6.     Explain the recipe and show the process.
7.     Say good bye to the audience
8.     Ask three questions to the audience. Bring sample to the class. (optional) 


Suggestion: After watching your video-recording ask some questions to the audience and give degustation students who answer well.
